Comentário: Mais uma forma de combate

Depois dos irlandeses que se recusam a pagar impostos, uma nova forma espontânea de combater os bancos surgiu entre os países afectados pela crise, desta feita na Espanha. Iniciada por emigrantes oriundos da América Latina, espalhou-se ao resto da população. Esta organiza-se em grupos de algumas centenas para defenderem famílias de serem expulsas das suas casas pela polícia e forçar os bancos a renegociar os termos dos empréstimos.


"Veterans of the Platform of Mortgage Victims tell the new arrivals they will probably lose their homes but they also provide legal and psychological support to people willing to move out in exchange for the bank forgiving their loan. (...) But the Platform has managed to suspend or delay dozens of the procedures in the last six months by protesting outside foreclosed homes and helping people negotiate with their banks."
